good job carl. but i found a little problem. there's an error margin
when converting UNIX dates, usually around 3 or 4 hours. otherwise, your
library works great! anyway, here's the 'ar' archive i tested it with.
the second column is the UNIX date/time. the third and fourth columns
are the user and group IDs of the file, and the last 3 digits of the 5th
column are the permissions(though i have no idea what the first 3 are),
and the 6th column is the length. and i'll be darned if i know what that
` is for

As per usual ;) <head deflate>

Odd. Is it the same number of _seconds_ that it is incorrect by each time or
does it vary? It may well be that I've misjudged where the 1970 epoch lies -
I use 1970-1-1 0:00:00am - can someone confirm or deny this is the right
date/time?
