I saw your milling machine and thought it would be interesting to add stepper motors and control to it to create a computer controlled machine out of it. Then you could use Euphoria to write programs to automatically control the milling machine. In other words a CNC machine. I think that Euphoria would be an ideal computer langauge for doing this. This site might give you some ideas: http://hometown.aol.com/drigotti/HobbyCNC.htm Bernie

Gene, Haven't looked at your game yet, but I like your little steam engine, and especially your little cartoon of how a steam engine works. From it I ca= n sorta see how an interest in designing/building mechanical gadgets and programming are related: the differing radii of the power crank and the control one (eccentric?) creates a kind of "timing loop" to allow the pis= ton to receive pressure and to exhaust at the right times. I realized that w= hen I noticed the two rod assemblies (power & control) were moving at differe= nt speeds, even though they were both attached to same wheel, & wondered how that was done, & then I saw that the eccentric and the crank had differen= t radii. But in order to create that solution, a mechanical designer had t= o think in very much the same way as a programmer: what's the problem, what= 's the general idea of a solution, & what's a way to implement the general solution. Neat. You might find this site of some interest, http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hall/3551/ it belongs to a *master* Italian clockmaker, Carlo G. Croce, & I found it after I saw a TV program about John Harrison & "his lifelong effort to wi= n the =A3 20,000 prize put at stake by the Board of Longitude for a clock a= ble to determine the longitude of a ship at sea with a maximum error of thirt= y nautical miles after a six weeks trip." The show was fascinating, and so are Carlo's clocks. Well done, Gene! I'll introduce it to my kids tomorrow. I'm sure they'll delight in trying to beat my high score. > Hi folks > > I finished my first EUporia game. > > Thanks > Gene _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thanks for the links to the sites that you all new would be of interest to me. :o) Oh by the way Jiri, my wife is harmless inspite of her attitude. :o) I realy like using your mouse/RAT routines. They are great. Thanks Gene

Gene, I have not played your game (generally I distrust games wives play), but I think your wooden models are truly superb. jiri >From: Gene Mannel <mgene2 at GJ.NET> > >Hi folks > > I finished my first EUporia game.
