Oh, I wouldn't charge much more than my expenses, just enough to cover
the cost of the CD, shipping, and a little bit extra to compensate me
for my time.
So now I have to pose the question to everyone:
Is there enough interest in this for me to distribute these cd's? I
imagine people will be more interested in the euphoria cd than the
Doslinux one. Or maybe I could put them one cd. Any ideas for the
price of the cd's? How much would you be willing to pay?
Please get back to me, all those interested,

I'd be willing to pay for the DosLinux Distrib (especially with Eu on it).
10-15$ sounds reasonable.

That seems fair. I have to do some checking to see how much shipping will
cost to the US, but tentatively, I think I may charge $15 Cdn, $10 US.

Well, right now I wouldn't bother; I've got a fairly fast connection.
This might change shortly though, and if so, I'd probably be willing
to pay several dollars for it. If you could get the price down to $5
(US), including shipping and handling, I'd probably get it on at least
a quarterly basis just for the updates (and I would really only be
interested in the user contributions.)

There is only one problem with a CD distribustion. Once you make the CD
then you are locked into the version issued on that day. If you have a
a zipped distro on a WEB page then any version changes, patchs, and updates
means simplely making a new zip file and posting it on a web page. The only
advantage of a CD is download time. The zipped installation could be made
to automatically install the Doslinux along with the Euphoria to set up
the basic working system and any games, any extra utilities can be in
seperate download file.

If you could get DosLinux on a CD with KDE, I'd be interested. I know a
number of people who would love to play with Linux, but are hesitant to mess
with partitioning their hard disks. It seems to me that no more than $10 US
(including shipping) is the fair market price for this sort of thing, where
you are merely bundling free software, and selling the convenience of not
having to download it.

7. Re: Euphoria, contrib files and Doslinux on cd
Right now I'm looking into that. What I'm hoping is to be able to quickly and
easily update different components off the internet, where a user could
periodically download a file containing various updates. The file would update
everything automatically. I can't imagine any update being over 2Mb.
Any other ideas for updating? I'm looking for as much input as possible.

8. Re: Euphoria, contrib files and Doslinux on cd
I've set $10 US as my maximum, so now I have to concentrate on keeping my costs
below that.
I currently have KDE running with DosLinux, before that, I had fvwm. Both seem
to work well.
I'm planning on doing more than just throwing Doslinux and a bunch of software
on a CD, I want a whole, ready to go package, where all the user has to do to
get things set up is run an install program, select the components to install,
and viola, with any luck, a fully configured linux system with all the extras.

Hmmm, reading back through the posts, I don't see you actually saying you're
thinking about putting the code from the Euphoria user archives on a CD.
Would this be something for you to consider, or are you only interested in
putting Euphoria and/or DosLinux on CD?

10. Re: Euphoria, contrib files and Doslinux on cd
I think someone mention it, and I agreed that it was a good idea.
So far as that goes, I've yet to decide whether I should put it on a separate
CD,
or on the same one. I'm thinking about putting them both (Euphoria contrib and
DosLinux stuff) on one cd.
I'm making something like 58 cents a CD, and this is going to take hours upon
hours of work on my part, so please, don't get impatient =)
Thanks,
