1. No joy in linux
Hi
Still can not get euphoria to work in linux:(
I have tried evrything I know of and no go.Rob maybe you should put a
list on the web site that states what LINUX Dist to use to run
euphoria.I can get Pyhon to work:(
Well back to dos agian.
If anyone has ANY IDEAS (like ROB) please let me now.

I believe it works with most of them unless they are really old
and still use libc5 or earlier.

If you run a simple program from an XTERM prompt,
the program might create a window, output something to it,
close the window, and return to the prompt so fast
that you won't see anything, except maybe a slight flicker.
Run a small program that prompts for input,
or add:
if getc(0) end if
or something at the end of the program,
so the display won't disappear.

Well, sorry you're giving up. I've installed Euphoria on all the
distributions listed below, and have never had to do anything but follow the
instructions that come with the package.
RedHat 7.1
Mandrake 8.0
Mandrake 7.1
Suse 6.4
Suse 6.3
TurboLinux 2?
Debian 2.2
Slack 4.0
If you ever want to try Linux in fhe future, I suggest you either buy a book
with a CD, or buy a distribution that comes with manuals, such as SuSE.
Lots of good information in those books.
BTW: I'm still wondering why your exu file is listed as a directory.

What happens when you type exu at the prompt?
You never said whether you get the Euphoria Public Domain.... message screen,
or what.

I'm not sure what release it's based on, but you can add DragonLinux 8.0 to
this list of successful Linux installs, again by just following the given
instructions.
DragonLinux is a 'hosted' Linux; the Linux file system appears to your
Windows system as a single file. To run DragonLinux, your system restarts
in a manner equivalent to MS-DOS mode, but booting the Linux kernal instead
of a DOS kernal. It is advertised as a way to become familiar with Linux
without needing to repartition an already extant system.

The version I have was formerly known as LoopLinux, and was version 0.80,
not 8.0 as I had written.
The current version is v2r1, and supports Slackware 7.1 and some RPM
packages.
You can get it from http://www.dragonlinux.net.
DragonLinux v2r1 is based on the Linux Kernel v2.2.16, glibc v2.1.3, and
includes X-Windows v3.3.6, the KDE v1.1.2, GNOME v1.2, and Enlightenment
v0.16.4 desktops, Netscape Communicator v4.73 and a host of GNU General
Public License (GPL) software.
