Howdy y'all! A question from Kat: Travis, could you ask the good folks on the Eu listserv how to decode to text a PDF file? I was asked if i could decode (for rapid mining) a few thousand of them. thanks, Kat

Try going to <http://www.freshmeat.net> and searching for PDF. When I did just now, 74 results came back. There are a number of PDF manipulation utilities there, many of which are open source.
