1. Wishlist for next version

I wish that the next version of Euphoria could have an official virtual
screen library and a library for sound files like .mid .mp3 .wav and
.mod.
Winlib32 should also be included in the pakage.

Before I upgrade from Win98, what should I expect to go wrong?

There's the reason for my question: I have several Euphoria programs out
there
in daily use, and sooner or later, someone is going to either buy a new
computer
with XP or decide to upgrade. I'd like to be prepared if my Eu/Windows
programs
are going to quit working at that point.

What about Linux users, what do they get?

I've had three users complain that my program won't save, open files, and
also, the dir() doesn't work on some directories . . .

That's one of the reasons i don't really want to sell software. Microsoft *will*
break code, and linux is still evolving, and i could not possibly support all
the
platforms out there. I can, however, provide a service on my puters, with one
unchanging OS, which they could either subscribe to or get free. Which is
why a stable tcp lib is a requirement for me, it's what internet services are
based on.

I don't have that option - I have to sell software (or give up eating:)
If M$ breaks my programs, which have been running just fine for
years, I think my clients will understand where the fault lies, and will
probably be willing to pay a reasonable price for upgrades, or go back
to Win98.

I would like to be able to prepare ahead of time, so that there is little or no
downtime involved. Hence the questions re: will XP support .com programs,
(in use for about 20 years!) or Eu programs, (2 - 3 years), etc.
