I think Mr. Trick also asked about other translations. C.K. was free to distribute the KJV because it's basically in the public domain. NIV, NAS, NASB, etc., etc. are all copyrighted and you are not allowed to reproduce these without consent. Actually, Derek, if you read the site where C.K. found the .txt files (I don't have it in front of me) the author makes a case that the KJV is the ONLY version and anything else is from the "bad guy". Judge for yourself. Jonas Derek Parnell wrote: > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "C. K. Yeah, I'd love to have the Amplified, but I think it's copyrighted. If somebody can point me to where other translations are available in text format with one verse per line (like the KJV was), I'll make databases out of those as well!

See http://ebible.org/bible/web/ >From the webpage: The World English Bible is a Modern English update of the American Standard Version of 1901. Both are in the public domain. There are various formats available for downloading. The one you'd probably want is this: http://ebible.org/bible/web/web_olb.zip - contains a one verse/line ASCII database without poetry/prose formatting
