I think Mr. Trick also asked about other translations.

C.K. was free to distribute the KJV because it's basically in the public 
domain.  NIV, NAS, NASB, etc., etc. are all copyrighted and you are not 
allowed to reproduce these without consent.

Actually, Derek, if you read the site where C.K. found the .txt files (I 
don't have it in front of me) the author makes a case that the KJV is 
the ONLY version and anything else is from the "bad guy".  Judge for 
yourself.
