1. Greetings / Benchmarks
Greetings Everyone!
I just recently downloaded Euphoria and have been gleefully messing about
with it.
In reading Jason Leit's thread on benchmarks, I began to wonder if anyone
has tried longer benchmarks between C/C++ and Euphoria. From my
understanding, Euphoria has very robust garbage collection. Would this
help even out the speed difference between C and Euphoria in longer
applications where poor memory collection would cause losses in the
performance of C? I am guess that it would not, but one can always hope. ;)
BTW Jason - on a funny side note, I am a 1/2 Belgian living in Canada. :)
My father was a Belgian national whose parents moved to Canada when he was
a child.

The speed loss from bad self-implemented garbage collection in large C
programs shouldn't be that bad that it would make compiled C run slower than
Euphoria. But then again, I didn't even know what garbage collection was
untill today :)

Haha that's funny!
Maybe we should all swap countries sometime :)
Belgium lost against Turkey at Euro2000 yesterday, marking the end of
Belgium in the contest. They lost 2-0 :(
But then again, I'm for Italy, and they won against Sweden 2-1 yesterday!
Italia per sempre!!!

Yeah, well they only won cos the swedish team _sucks_ when it comes to
scoring goals.
The keyword for sweden is "träben".

I wanted them to win too, but at least norway is out and that's all that
matters..
