1. To the Kind and Benevolent Soul ...

Hello! When I had first discussed having problems finding a home for the pds website, some one in NYC had written me and stated that they could host the site, at least for a limited time. Unfortunately, that wonderful article of mail is on my other computer, which is about 600 miles away. Whoever it was (I don't think) writes to the list much. Apparently, what I need to do is create a personal web page somewhere, and then link to a Palo Duro Solutions page on that person's website. If whoever it was could please write me privately, I'd appreciate it. This hell is being brought on by the fact that the original installer was about 3 meg, which most sites can't deal with. I've begun to think that this was also ProHosting's problem, although they would not admit it. Thanks! Travis Beaty Evans, Colorado.

You can reduce this 3 meg if you'll prepare the dummy 0.dat file, which is about 1.3 meg now. All you need in this file are inner file's names and very short standard body of each dummy file. So, to create and debug your installer, first of all, force it to install dummy Eu. Why not ? If you want, I can try to make such a trick with 0.dat of Eu 2.2 for you. If Rob has no protests then ... But maybe I do not understand somewhat well now. Regards, Igor Kachan kinz at peterlink.ru

Hello Igor! Well, your idea would work, if the packaged data file were split into several pieces. The thing is, I don't use the 0.dat file from the original distribution. Instead, I basically have the Euphoria files in a folder, and that folder, structure and all, is packaged. When the installer opens the data file, those folders, as I have them on my machine, are mirrored on the user's machine, without the files for unwanted options. I am hoping that when I'm done with the compiler, it will result in a much smaller package file. I've got a trick or two up my sleeve. Thanks for your advice, though!
