Why have you dropped the rapideuphoria link? It's very inconvenient, especially when I am traveling overseas and using someone else's machines.

I has not been "dropped", just moved. Have a look at the front page of the Wiki, you should see the link as

I has not been "dropped", just moved. Have a look at the front page of the Wiki, you should see the link as
Come on, Derek. Everybody knows I am lazy (just ask my wife...) and you force me to click twice now. What's more, you want me to remember which link to click first, pretty hazardous undertaking at my age. I know the rapideuphoria page is very ugly, but it still contains a lot of useful information, for example links to versions of euphoria that actually work!

Hm, last time I checked, 4.0 was much more functional that 3.1. I'd dread the thought of having to use 3.x after using 4.x. Sure, it's beta right now, but I've been using it in production on a few apps for many, many months now w/o any issue.

Jiri! I'm surprised that a curmudeon would even be interested in Euphoria 4. I just assumed that you'd stay in the dark-ages and continue with Eu v2 ... maybe you might upgrade to v3 one day, but version 4?!?!?! - never

Derek, I did try a couple of alphas and I liked what was promised, but unfortunately none of the programs that use Andrea Cini's excellent euwingui (the only windows environment I can tolerate) compiled. When I get back from Europe in mid October I shall try again, and I hope it will work. jiri

What were the problems? Was it actual bugs or problems due to syntax/keyword changes/additions?

No, I did not have any problems with syntax/keyword changes/additions, the changes were relatively minor. The finished programs ended with machine exceptions and screens of mumbo-jumbo I could not decipher. And I tried both Borland C 5.5 and Watcom. The interpreter had similar difficulties, so after strugling with the thing for a day or two I chucked it and went back to 3.1.1. No more problems!

Jeremy, quite honestly I have no idea whether it is still a problem, I have not tested the latest issues of alphas. As I indicated earlier, I am at the moment holidaying in Europe, constantly on the road, so I will not have a decent chance to examine the new beta until late in October. Perhaps it was a bug you have already fixed, I just do not know.
