Hey all, it looks like the original problems i was experiencing are cleared up,
but i had to restart the puter at roughly 32megs anyhow, the video got
trashed as i was fixing breakfast. It's going to be a big breakfast, eaten all
during day, cause i may be on batteries again with that storm about to
plaster me today. I don't know what casue the display to trash, colors were
wiped or missing, text was mostly unreadable, unless it was displayed by IE
directly. All help boxes, dos screens, info boxes, mirc and Eu and every
other app, except the IE main window were unreadable blocky blobs in place
of chars. Thinking i might have nudged the video card out when i replaced
memory yesterday, i more firmly nudged the cards. I do hope i wasn't
overwriting anything with Eu!

Something else i noted: i made a clone of the program that is now working,
changed the url, and filtering code, and ran it. Imagine how amazed i was
that it puts() to the screen ok, but nothing got puts()'d to the harddrive.
There
were no errors, the writefile was created, but it was empty. Both write files
were on the same harddrive, different dirs, same include files. Any ideas?

Kat
