So, it is possible to use it to transmit a virus. The same goes for any file with an extension that DOS/Windows can execute, by itself (like a .sys or a .cpl) or through an association with some program. As for disabling automatic execution (scripting, Java), OE doesn't give you that option, but you can open 'Internet Options' (from the Tools menu, also from Internet Explorer or in the Control Panel -they are all the same), and select 'Internet' (the world icon) and customize. You can separately disable Java, batch, ActiveX, cookies, automatic downloads, and so on. Normally you'll have three options: enable, disable, and be queried. It's not perfect, but it will protect you from most normal hazards. Gerardo
