Hi Michael, MS have taken some body blows over some aspects of VB.Net. Many of the MSVP's for VB have been very critical and outspoken over many of the short commings VB.Net seems to have. MS have "apparently" been trying their best to fill the major gaps but the size (bloatware) will always be "the" major drawback of VB. Some people even say MS should not use the "Visual Basic" (VB) name as the VB.Net product is so different that it really is a new product. Frustratingly your right ... people will flock to its use. As long as stability and efficiency aren't critical aspects of your application MS products are fine to use :) Ray Smith > Has anyone looked at M$'s latest and greatest bloatware? It requires a full gigabyte to install, and must be installed on it's own partition or PC lest it crash your system. Oh, and the beta doesn't come with an uninstall program, so you'll essentially have to reformat the partition to get rid of it. Support for COM is limited and support for DDE is gone. > > http://click.techrepublic.com/Click?q=be-B7rxQCpAUlxHXQprnk4y52Ge > > Of course, everybody is going to flock to it knowing that if it's that big, and made by that big company, it must be the best, right? > > May small, simple, fun Euphoria live forever! > > Michael J.
