Ferlin:
  When you use a PS2 mouse the software you are using must look for
  the mouse on INTERRUPT 12 instead on of interrupt or int-4 (com1) or
  int-3 (com2). (Some drivers find the mouse automatically like windows
  does). This may be your problem.
