I don't know about Eudora but Pegasus is missing one critical feature that Outlook Express has. You tell me of an email client that has all the below features and I will switch to it. Would be even better if it runs on both Windows and Linux. /me does Mozilla Mail ---------------FEATURES-------------- Folders and Subfolders Each level collapsable and auto expand if an unread message filters into there. Collapsable > Yes Auto Expand > No Rule Filtering Yes Leave copy on server for XX number of days Nope, Leave until sent to trash, or download Sortable columns - To - From - Subject - Receive date. Yep Customizable Display filter - Only show unread. or unread and flagged or .. Yep, defaults & custom filter maker Search filter through subfolders show messages with attachments and from Bubba Smith and to my 3rd email address and after this date and before this date and with the blah in the subject.... you get the idea. Yes and no. It can filter the folder, but you have to filter each subfolder individually. You can also search local folders, but that is not a filter. Check email every XX minutes. Yep, this is pretty standard Selectable account checking. I setup account A, B and C but don't check account B during check default check all email Yep > Seperate Check for new mail option for each account Some method of displaying and saving to file the raw messages as they were RETR - retrieved from the server. Headers and all. Yep, .eml format A method of importing such raw files into the email client as any other message. Nope Preview Pane can actually be turned off. Yep (The Bar between the Inbox and the Preview pane) Text only viewing mode is selectable Nope :( I want this tho, I wonder if it is available in an add-in Would like to have a HTML indicator. But even OE doesn't have an indicator. Selectable Read Receipt response. Always return Ask me first Never return It has all those, and it has the ability to decide based on weather you are sent via BCC, and wether the sender is outside the domain. Selectables [ ] Save a copy of sent messages [ ] Send immediately [ ] Reply to messages in format that was sent Save a copy is selectable, but it always sends when you click the send button. If you don't want to send it yet, you can save it as a draft and send it later. Reply in format that was sent -> always replies/sends in plain format were no formatting loss is incured, and it will send / prompt / decide based on rules about sending in HTML Include message in reply - Either always or selectable Selectable Either no address book or settable to manual only. I don't do address books Manual (me either), with option to add all outgoing recipiants to addressbook View plain text messages in font of my choosing OR a fixed width font Both, with your choice of size, colour, wrap and emoticon substitution as well. Selectable Default mail sending format and can alter format while composing the message Yep - covered above Signature file capable Yes I have html set as my default and typcially change it to plain just before composing. It picks the format as neccisary, but you can force HTML if you want. Lucius L. Hilley III Advantages over OE : Skinable Can get plugins / addons / mods (www.mozdev.org) Klez Proof (tested it myself) Also runs on Mac Can Import Mail, Settings & Address Books from Communicator 4.x Eudora Outlook & Outlook Express Intelligent Junk Mail Filter that learns And If you don't like that, I have heard good things about Pine (although, never used it myself)
