if you go to the AMD site, or the Via site (which i think took over the 
Cyrix), you will find that AMD has added a number of commands at the ASM 
level which, while continuing their 'compatibility' with Intel, also put 
additional operations and refinement into their CPUs. look under 
compilers.

right now, there are NO chips, including Intel, that are really 
compatible with the original x86 code. each has refined their product 
while maintaining backward compatibility.

the real question, whether or not Euphoria (for Linux/BSD/etc) could be 
ported to another processor, can't be answered until somebody tries...
