[OT] Power outages
Just to let everyone know, there are currently over 1.5 million people in
Michigan, Ohio, Canada and New York without power. This massive outage was
caused not by terrorism, but by nature, as lightening hit a tower on the
U.S. side of the Niagra Falls power facility. The power went out around 4:15
pm on Thursday. Power is returning, however, as I am one of about 150,000
people who have regained power. Mine came back on around 5:30 am. Everything
is at a halt here, except for the 3 gas stations down the street that have
power. They've never seen so much business. I also heard they're not sure
how long those of us with power will keep it, because as they restore power
it may lead to more brown-outs and black-outs.
