The problem with adding more features to the library is this: You may not 
code it that way, and you may not want to deal with those extra features, 
but a lot of programming is looking at other people's code in libraries, and 
including them for your own program to use.

So while _you_ may not use the new features, you can still encounter them, 
and have to work out exactly what the person was doing with their code. This 
can be particularly difficult if the library has a heavy reliance on new 
features.
