From the source code in file.e, it appears that walk_dir() returns 0 if it runs successfully to completion. It returns -1 if it can't open the initial path you give it (as argument 1). It can also return any other Euphoria object, that the function you pass to it returns, when your function decides to stop prematurely (indicated when your function does not return 0).
