Religion is an organization that many people use to socially interact based on their beliefs about supernatural stuff. Would is be obscene to state a belief that "coke is better than pepsi"? People are also organized geographically, would putting your country in your sig be "dominant behavior"? We are all organized together as Euphorians and we hold strong beliefs about the Euphoria language; beliefs that can easily get offended by suggestions for changes, etc. The fact that there is overlap between the groups of Christians and the group of Euphoria programmers should not be a bad thing. It would allow more social interaction between those who share the most common beliefs. > Furhtermore, religion is not central to every1, for me it is a cultural and > historical thing, and nothing more. For an anecdote, I was trying to track down a bug in my ModWave project that was causing memory to get corrupted. PatRat and Einar Mogen had discovered the bug while trying to use ModWave in their games. I struggled with finding the bug in the huge asm procedures and complex memory structures for weeks. I couldn't even reproduce the bug until Einar sent me a copy of his game. It was driving me insane, I couldn't sleep at night, so I stayed up late debugging and removing code, hoping the corruption effect would disappear. Sort of a divide and conquer approach. And still I couldn't find it. Then finally a couple days ago, I threw in the towel and prayed to God to help me find the bug. The next day, I stumbled onto the definition of the popa instruction and realized that it did not save the segment registers as I had previously thought. I changed the code to save those registers and, lo and behold, no memory corruption. Was it a coincidence that I found that info only after praying? I don't think so; I'm giving God the credit for that one.
