Yes, I read it, but if I look at the threads of messages 9/10 threads contain messages classifed as source code as well as messages classified as discussion or whatever purpose you left over for this mailing list. I mean why clone something that is already there ? 99/100 messages would go to your new list serv, and other one in the week would stay on the other list. Simply because most threads *start* with a problem, followed by a source code solution, and a discussion in some cases. At some point we have to jump over to a new list serv ? Why ? We still get them all in the same mailbox. >Second of all, how in the world is he going to ask people his question? >Send mail to all 250 on this list? As I recall those 250 already have a mailing list. Try other people. >Third of all, it is not rude, in my opinion, the way he said it. In fact, >it may be good. Some1 provides us this list. You now the figure of speech "looking a given horse in the mouth" ?? My point is, I wish the new >list would be distinuishable from the old list's FROM: field, so I can put >them in separate cabinet drawers. Thanks to the MS-Inbox assistent, all Euphoria messages already go into a special cabinet here. You from *field* is not used by any assisten, the real email addres of the person that has sent you a message is used. That's the way I did it. If you want to seperate the type of message on this list serv, ask people to begin a subject with a word or something to show the type of message. "BF:" --> I can't fix this bug --> BUG FIX REQUESTED "BR:" --> I found a bug in some1 elses code "LT:" --> I have a new suggestion for Euphoria --> Language Theory "OFF:" --> A 100% OFF topic message about, for example, CD-ROMS. You can set any inbox assistent to handle this.. so why not use these rules, if you boys want some ordening in your mail box ?? BTW All list-server message, have a "tab" infront oif their subject line here. (WIN95+IE4; OUTLOOK EXPRESS) Ralf Nieuwenhuijsen nieuwen at xs4all.nl
