BC.EXE was QuickBasic, the proffessional version, it allowed compiling,
include files, and a couple of other enhancements. Qbasic, was the free
public version. Source code listed as being for QB may not work in QBasic.
In any case, if you want a compiler that'll compile your Qbasic source
code, get PowerBasic (preferably) or FirstBasic. (same product, but
FirstBasic's a stripped-down version) It gives you TSRs, several more data
types, breaks the memory limit of Qbasic, and lets you compile to EXE.
Unfortunately the shareware trial is cripple-ware. Doesn't let you load
source, but you can cut and paste from the Windows95 clipboard and compile
your stuff. http://www.powerbasic.com/
Also, there's a Qbasic-to-Euphoria source code translator in the
Euphoria Archive. Doesn't handle all of the functions but it's a good
start.
Euphoria's better anyway. smile

Yep, kinda sorta. With versions 6.2+ that shipped with Windows they
left out a bunch of stuff. I think this is the official list: APPEND,
ASSIGN, BACKUP, COMP, DOSSHELL, EDLIN, EGA.SYS, FASTHELP, FASTOPEN,
GRAFTABL, GRAPHICS, HELP, INTERLINK, INTERSVR, JOIN, MEMCARD, MEMMAKER,
MIRROR, MSAV, MSBACKUP, POWER, PRINT, PRINTER.SYS, QBASIC, RAMDRIVE.SYS,
RECOVER, REPLACE, RESTORE, SHARE, SMARTMON, TREE, UNDELETE, UNFORMAT, and
VSAFE.
Most of that is no longer needed, so if you read about it but can't find
it, don't worry too much. But if you want it, check the 'Old MS-DOS
Utilities' file on http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/info/otherutils.htm.
I think that's the 'supplemental' disk all zipped up. Be aware some of 'em
won't work right. And some of 'em will require you to use SETVER to trick
'em into thinking you're using an older version of DOS.
