Oh my God!
Robert Craig is suspected to suffer a severe crash!
He is suspected to be burned too!

Yes!
That's right!

Robert Craig is suspected to CRASH Euphoria when he
will try to port it to other platforms. (Made ya look,
huh?).
Plus, he just got himself fired too.
>From his own company ;p
He's totally burned man!

Why?
Because he can *never* port Euphoria to platforms such
as the Macintosh or gaming consoles.
This is because of call().
How are you going to call Intel machine code on a
Motorola or MIPS processor?

A. Euphoria can translate your machine code to the
given platform's machine code (hard...).
B. You don't!

So, how will we then, solve this Euphoria Port
problem?

Remember my suggestion quite recently of a 'Portable
Euphoria'?
Wich would be a small source distribution of the
Euphoria interpreter, but with platform-specific code
stripped out. (Such as DOS interupts, call(), etc.).

People can pick it up and compile it with CodeWarrior
for PSX, PS2 and N64 for example.
Or use GCC to compile for other non-PC platforms.
Plus they can slap in new features into the
interpreter.
You'd see dozens of Euphoria versions out there.
RDS could set up a license that forbids people to use
the source to implement a program interpreter, for
example.
If someone ignores this, they can be sued by RDS.

So RDS will never fear competition, plus it will make
Euphoria more attractive for businesses, it would make
Euphoria a language that is even MORE portable than C,
and so forth...

Rob told me he planned to release the source to
Euphoria in the future, free or for payement.
I called him and told him he's an ass for thinking
like this. I hope I talked him out of it.
But I do support this Portable Euphoria idea.
Because the source to Euphoria wouldn't do you any
good
anyways, it's not ANSI C and prolly hard to port.

Robert, do this, it'll do you good.
Trust me.
