Yeah - I had noticed that as well.  When a multiline cell has the focus 
then it is displayed in an edit field, but otherwise the text is just 
drawn onto the background of the grid.  There seems to be a difference 
in the way that text with no hard returns is rendered between edit 
fields and the Windows DrawText method.  It's on my list of things to 
fix...
