Since you can use IDE on your home XP pro we know this is not a problem with IDE. Do you use a different type keyboard and mouse at work than you do at home? I ask because when I got my XP pro it came with a fancy "Smart" wireless Microsoft mouse and keyboard and I had a time getting it to treat my keyboard function keys to act normally and the mouse side buttons. judith evans
