New password confirmation

Rob,

If I leave the password blank on the login screen, can I have a "confirm you
want a new password sent to you" screen, rather than just wiping my existing
password automatically? Better yet, how about leaving the old password valid
until such a point as the new one has been used?

Typically I use Alt-Down to enter/select my email address, and it is so easy to
hit return instead of tab, not that I do so that often, but I managed it again
today without even realising.
