I'll snip the criticisms, and just say that:
1. Your observations are probably correct,
2. Yes, those things could be corrected, and
3. No, they won't be, at least not by me.

There has been little real interest in a DOS GUI, other than as a topic
for
discussion, so it seems like a waste of time for me to make any changes.

I suggest that the same may be true for your DOS gui, as well.
Please put your time into the WinLib.
