<snip> I think I've heard so many suggestions on how Euphoria should / could / would be, that it makes me sick to even think about it. Sure, some improvements could be made to Eu we all know this. Why cant we just learn to use the tool we chose without critique-ing the shit out of it. Be happy my friends it could be much worse. </snip> No lack of appreciation here. People get on a topic, such as gotos, and everyone has a say. There are lots of things that would be "nice to have." Just because "it could be much worse", and many languages are, doesn't mean it is fruitless to discuss potential improvements. My hope is that Rob will be persuaded to the occasional tweak to make things better for the community. If not, at least we have had some fun discussing "philosophy." If Rob doesn't see fit to make any changes, those of us who are sufficiently motivated can tinker up our own languages. That's about all. I am not going to quit using Euphoria because it doesn't have a goto, setjmp/longjmp, some keyword that helps you use commas more naturally and sensibly, etc. I would perhaps be an even more avid fan and promoter of the language if it contained a few of my own favorite candidate features. Right now I just want my program to work, and to quit faltering because I've upgraded to try to take advantage of improvements. That is of course an issue related to libraries rather than the language.
