I believe you can send the following command to LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU SET EUPHORIA NOACK NOREPRO It's described in the message you received from the list server when you subscribed. I'm quite happy with this mailing list. A newsgroup would be a very interesting idea as well, but I'm not sure how practical it would be to have two separate forums for discussing Euphoria. I suppose at some point we might outgrow our welcome at Miami University. I hope we aren't bringing their IBM mainframe to it's knees by making it send out 1000 to 2000 e-mail messages per day. John Kinne hasn't screamed yet so I guess we're ok for a while. This is a good time to mention some other useful commands in case people have forgotten. This is a repeat of my message from a month or so ago. -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Posting a message to the list: Send an e-mail message to: EUPHORIA at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU Your message will automatically be broadcast to all members of the list (including yourself). The subject and body of your message can be whatever you like (as long as it has something to do with Euphoria!). There are currently around 130 people on the list. Send to the EUPHORIA user id only when you want to broadcast a new message. All other commands (described below) must be sent to the LISTSERV user id. 2. Getting off the list Send an e-mail message to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU The subject of your message doesn't matter, but the body of your message must be: SIGNOFF EUPHORIA 3. Getting on the list (again) Send an e-mail message to: LISTSERV at MIAMI.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU The subject of your message doesn't matter, but the body of your message must be: SUBSCRIBE EUPHORIA John Smith Replace "John Smith" by your name. (Your e-mail address will be picked up automatically.) 4. Getting archived messages. You can retrieve all the messages that were posted during a given month by sending an e-mail message to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU with any subject, but the body should be something like: GET EUPHORIA LOG9612 where LOG9612 would be the log for December 1996. The first log was for June 1996 (LOG9606). 5. Digests I haven't actually tried this on the EUPHORIA list, but it has worked for me on a couple of other similar lists that I've been on. Send a message to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU with the message body: SET EUPHORIA DIGESTS This should cause you to receive only a single message at the end of the day containing all the messages posted for that day. This is for people who want to reduce the clutter in their inbox that may result when several messages arrive each day. The disadvantage is that you won't be able to respond as quickly to what other people are saying. There are several other specialized LISTSERV commands. You can get a description of them by sending a message to: LISTSERV at MIAMIU.ACS.MUOHIO.EDU with the message body: INFO REFCARD This automated mailing list was set up courtesy of John Kinne of Miami University (located in Ohio -- not Florida!). If you have difficulties with the list, feel free to contact me about it. -- Rob Craig Rapid Deployment Software
