I think the initial topic of an IRC channel was brought up because someone (sorry, I deleted the message so I don't know who it was) was concerned about the amount of mail being generated here. I personally prefer newsgroups because I don't get an annoying "ding" whenever somebody posts a message to a newsgroup like I do with email. Realistically, the amount of mail I get from the Euphoria list server is just a drop in the bucket compared to other lists I'm on so I don't think it's much of a problem (for me). I do still like the idea of a newsgroup possibly in addition to the mailing list. An IRC wouldn't be bad either if we did it at set times for group-type discussions but having one open all the time would just mean that 90% of the time when you tried to get a response, you wouldn't. I don't know if this list server has a digest option or not but many do so that you can request a digest to be delivered once a day or once a week instead of all the individual messages. If somebody'd rather get the mail in bursts instead of one message at a time, they may want to look into this. I don't want to imply that the list should be cancelled or anything like that because I think it's a great resource. I'm very new to Euphoria and haven't don't anything worth posting yet nor am I able to answer questions outside the scope of general programming (not specific to Euphoria) however, if we started using a newsgroup for some of these discussions, it would make more people aware of Euphoria and spread the user base.
