I've indicated that this is due to the WATCOM graphics library. That's not the whole story. A large part of the extra size is due to the CauseWay DOS extender, and some is simply due to less effective .exe compression. It's hard to add up the numbers from the link map, but the graphics library is not having as large an effect as you might be imagining. > I'm in for kicking out the watcom libs, and for adding > some cross-platform graphical interface library. I wish I had a cross-platform, separately-includable graphics library, with source code, that was fast, and compatible across (at least) Linux, Windows and DOS, and supported all the different graphics cards out there. Without a suitable replacement, I can't simply scrap the WATCOM library in the name of cross-platform consistency. It would break far too many programs.
