It's an older Windows application automation technology, replaced by OLE,
ADO, etc... I doubt it will be supported anymore in the near future...

I'm familiar with TCP/IP/Socks/etc., but DDE is one of those Windows things
I never paid much attention to.  Kat mentioned something about it being more
secure than Socks.  A link to an FAQ page would be a great help.
