I use EE all the time.  I often open up ex.err to look at a trace back or the
value of something.  Mostly, I just glance at the error screen and use the goto
line command.  I rarely run anything directly from EE.  I've had times when my
code crashed and caused EE to crash, too, so I usually have Explorer open and
double click on my app to run.
