Last I looked, it should work. I disabled the mouse handling, because in the 
initial Linux release, the mouse would select text, even if you didn't want 
it to. This was irritating, to say the least. But if the mouse is better 
behaved these days, it could go back in.

I might take a look at it some time myself - I run Linux on my home machine 
as my primary OS, and I really miss the DOS editor.

It wasn't that hard to rip out the non-portable code. A lot of it was little 
cleanups because graphics characters weren't supported in Linux.
