MDI

Hi All,

	I was reading the SDK documentation on MDI applications, here goes a 
quote

"MDI is an application-oriented model. Many new and intermediate users 
find it difficult to learn to use MDI applications. Therefore, many 
applications are switching to a document-oriented model. "

I personally find MDI model very simple and straight forward, but what 
to they mean when they say document-oriented? and are there any other 
models around?. some one fill me in  on this
