I do not think that the mail server does that.. It is your ISP and Mail provider that do that.. And about the time, that would be helped if the mail server changed time stamps to it's own time.... or if we would all use a good mail program and include location information in our configurarion (i believe if everybody sets his/her configuration right, it should work, but i haven't spend too much time on that) But yes, there is a time difference of i believe 7 hours between Holland and the US. > IMO, there are far too many personal messages, and many messages are far > too long (excessive quoting, usually). And then Euphoria newsgroup has already got some messages that are not about Euphoria at all, but are advertisement (SPAM, i believe most call it) And you can not be sure that everybody recieves your message. (I mean your message header) I don't know exactly how it works, but i guess it doesn't keep all the messages forever does it? A mail provider does... ANd you can choose (if you have a descent mail program) to only download the headers... and then you can select the ones you want to see. I am using Pegasus Mail, but if you are using Netscape Communicator you won't even see a difference between you mail box or a newsgroup.. So only the dates would be a good reason to use newsgroups.... Ralf Nieuwenhuijsen nieuwen at xs4all.nl
