In WIN 9x/ME is free stack for message que only 32 slots length and 
lengthen is only if messages gous across Post/PeekMessage function ( 
maybe ? ), you simly overrun this value becouse you called 
EditText2_onChange recursively. Why sometime Windows tels that stack is 
overflow and sometime simply aborting an application is mystery. In XP 
this situation working often propertly, I suppose that XP doing some 
shorts for prevent this situation. Now I haven't access on WINNT/2000 so 
I can't test it.
