David, since your C is "very rusty", why don't make Project X (or Gnuphoria) a group project ? You can coordinate the job of others (as well as write code) and the whole thing can benefit the hard work of all these euphoria gurus ! This is only my *very* humble opinion, I don't want to teach anything to anyone ....
