Shroud offers enough security as-is. Too much security makes for a tempting
target. I just thought the option would be better than the burden of
encryption.

Thanks. It's still much faster (and cleaner) that a giant IF statement.
I'll optimize my code accordingly - passing a constant NUL in the arg, and
using global vars.
