Tabs with enable/disable?????

Hi all,
I have a tab control with 3 tabs on it. When a user selects a button on 
tab 1 how do I disable the other tabs until the user selects the save 
button.
If I use setEnable(Tab2, False) it disables all tabs and all items on 
it. Infact it all but locks the program.
My only solution so far it to manually set the enable/disable for each 
and every item, but as the program grows this is becoming too difficult.
