You'll need to query the registry; there are libraries for doing this in the
rapideuphoria archives.  Use a registry editor (REGEDIT comes with windows)
to look in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\.Default - you will find
all the system sounds in there - and work out which ones you need to query.

Personally, I use and recommend reg.ew by Davi T. Figueiredo.

N.B. this is for a Windows 98 system but I'm guessing other versions work
the same way.
