I use Thunderbird on XP. It gives me the Subject and
also shows the message body (as an inline Web page) when I click on
the Subject. There's a check box that might affect whether the message
body shows or not.

I set it up as a Firefox "Live Bookmark", using the manual method
(Manage Bookmarks / File / New Live Bookmark)
Seems to work.

I guess I can add the special RSS icons to make it easier for people.
