EUPHORIA - a BIG Joke ? Give it new clothes ...
To all Euphorians especially to Rob (thanks for your support !)

I just read with a BIG smile that mail from this List:

And even though I am shure that I am not the only
person who was smiling about that, we should take out the TRUTH from "the
childs words"
(only a saying!) here.
Euphoria is (compared to VB, or as example "Gamesbasic" (also free avaible))
like a
Rocket-Motor hidden in Oldtimer-Design (DOS-BOX). Like a modern programmer
in 10 year old cothes.
Take a Look at the funny, colorful and easy-to-use Icons you get with the
other Language (as example "Gamesbasic"), even if the language itself isn't
already working. The first thing the programmers do is a funny
user-interface cause they know how urgent in our times the outfit is.
And you can run the Programm with a Click.
In terms of making Euphoria really POPULAR, I think it must simply change
its "Clothes" will say its "IDE". We all use it and also may think of the
advantages that it has - but is it how it should be ? Does anyone think it
is "state-of-the-art" ? Of course there are also advantages ...
But really ... take a look as example at "Gamesbasic", the editor, the
built-in Debugger
I think such an popular outfit would give the powerful concepts behind
euphoria a "big boost"
to popularity.
A good Motor and technik needs also a good design !
A beginner may really have trouble to get the first Euphoria-Program
running,
unlike C. Thats a subject I would recommend to change.
Let me say it like that: Bill decided "DOS is dead". And we should accept it
and make the BEST out of it.

PS: The big Joke-thing ... (is it an idea for a new FUN-Project ? Make a
WEB-Site for a Language that does not exist ?)
