I hadn't heard/noticed this.  I don't really understand fonts so well.  I just
piggybacked richedit onto the existing code.  If Dave could explain to me
(privately or publicly) what he found going wrong before, I'd be happy to take
a look at it.

Have you tried using ES_AUTOHSCROLL?  I believe that's what does it for simple
MLE's, so it should work for a richedit, too.
