I think that the difference here is only that of writing to a "native" interface not requiring any non-Euphoria deliverables. I suspect, but don't know that the VEL dll depends on many of the same dll's that win32lib does. The only thing that would make one intrinsically more desirable than the other, other than pure usability would be the degree of portability available. The VEL dll approach could allow the Euphoria code to be much more portable than calls to the native API. Both efforts are outstanding pieces of work that can only broaden the use of Euphoria. The existence of a powerful IDE of whatever heritage is one of those preconditions for the real growth of Euphoria use in the business community.
