Hi: I have been around for 2 years in this list and I can say that many of the request have been done before, in some way or another. The thing is that, as all of us have different needs in different times, the requests to modify Eu vary widely. I would ask, Is there really a need to modify the language? If we ask Bill to change VB, would he change it immediately? I think tha main justification to change is in the objectives to reach, as an example I would invite you to try the basic to Eu converter that is in the archive. As most of the old programs built with QBasic use gotos it is practically impossible to mantain a program once converted if it is a little complex (when the conversion works and runs). That is if you are using Euphoria to generate to or from some language, you need, at least, to depend on similar structures, so you need a very flexible target language, and Eu is not, being structured and "minimal" (I like the Idea: a kind of RISC in a high level language). In the past there has been arguments about OOP, structures, indexing, etc. (I particularly liked the one on notation x[5..] and x[..11], the lack of repeat...until..... and case, etc). On the other side I would like thank everyone that has the patience to contribute to this list. Bye the way, has anyone made a B-tree algorithm, to be shared? Is anybody working with the JVM or making a *.java to *.class compiler, or a C to Eu converter? (again goto needed, to be able to respect the original structure of a program already working. Why change it?) I think these are interesting Projects. I really enjoy all contributions (even religious or political, preferently technology related), although I accept that this is not the place for some of them. I use Eu when I see that no other language lets you solve it faster (mosly file filtering, searching, reformatting, simple games, calculations). My 0.00002 cents. (Do not worry, I will not do much noise).
