Whoa! Slow down a bit guys! I am not just writing this stuff OCR 101 for people who understand it; its also for those who don't and want to get a handle on its concepts. Ralf, you are doing good, but missing some of the point about Compression. There is one big problem about lossy compression, and that is whatever is 'lost' can't be gotten back, so what you toss away better be the least significant of what you have. Something 'similar' is not something 'same'. Compression is a like Encryption in this respect. Bernie, the list is coming. It seems like I really better move my tail on this, people getting anxious. Part II should happen tonight, and goes into more detail and discription about the overall process. You guys got quality ideas, its good to stir the pot, right? More in a couple of hours, Norm
