Even if you use FAT32 you should partition your drive Kevin. Partitioning a big drive improves data security and access speed. Notice that FAT32 is propietary of OSR2 an 98, DOS and NT can read it (Windows 2K will). FAT16 has a limit of 65.525 clusters so the biggest volume you can achieve is of 2GB with a 32K cluster size!. That's a lot of wasted space, and if you multiply it by four, you may be loosing several hundred megas. FAT32 can have clusters as small as 4K for 8GB volumes, that makes much better use of your harddisk. Regards, Daniel Berstein daber at pair.com
