You sure got that right. My method is useless.
Have you noticed that real math (IEEE 754) has
+infinity, -infinity, quiet NaNs, signaling NaNs,
indeterminates, as well as normalized and
denormalized numbers!
Combine that with Eu's 'atoms' which change silently
from integers to doubles.
The best solution may be a DLL that knows how to ask the
floating point processor (nicely) for its secrets.
